ARE WE CRAZY?

We left the UK at the end of March with a one way ticket, not 100% sure how long we’d be gone.

Why? We’d hit a crossroads.

Reece and I were both working full-time jobs. We had careers, a house, a routine. But we started asking ourselves the question: What if?... What if we gave Race & Taylor more than a few hours squeezed in at the end of each day? What if we actually gave it a real shot?

Because let’s be honest, trying to build something you care about on just 20% of your time doesn’t work. It wasn’t going to take off unless we made space for it to grow.

The solution? Well, packing up our lives, selling most of our things, moving out of our home, and flying to the other side of the world might not be everyone’s first idea... but hear me out.

Sun, palm trees, and surfing aside, what we really needed was time. A chance to live differently. To break out of the routine and rethink what we were building. We couldn’t just quit our jobs and go full-time on R&T overnight, we still had bills to pay. That would’ve meant finding other jobs and ending up in the same cycle.

So we changed the whole equation instead. Was it a mad idea? Maybe. But we remembered that whole thing called free will, and we used it.

Within six months, we made it happen. Sold the cars. Moved out. Put a plan together for Race & Taylor.

Enter brave decision no.2: February 18th, we threw a relaunch party in Shoreditch, London which some of you so graciously attended.

Unsurprisingly, hosting a private event in central London isn’t cheap.
Was the timing questionable? Absolutely.
Was it worth it? Without a doubt.

For us, the party felt like getting our skin back in the game, a way to build momentum again and give something back to the people who’ve supported us from the start. It marked a shift. Something real. A line in the sand.

Then, just like that, it was time. By the end of March, we’d both left our jobs. The bags were packed. The flights were booked.

March 30th - we were on our way. First stop: Dubai. A quick pit stop. A couple of days to rest, reset, and let it all sink in before the long haul 13 hours to Australia.

No big plan. No polished five year forecast. Just a clear sense that it was time to try living differently. To make space for the thing we’d only ever given scrapsof time to.

We don’t know exactly what’s next but that’s kind of the point.
We’re here. We’re all in. And Race & Taylor is officially on tour!
